Jago Geerts was the last winner of the MX2 motocross season. This Sunday, he came out on top at the MXGP of Great Britain, finishing first in the second race after taking third place in the opening race.

Simon Längenfelder (Red Bull GasGas) dominated the first British race in a battle with Thibault Benistant (Monster Energy Yamaha), narrowly winning by just 1.783s. Geerts (Monster Energy Yamaha) secured third place, trailing by just over two seconds. The trio held their positions from the first lap. The reigning champion, Andrea Adamo (Red Bull KTM), finished fourth, always behind the opponents in front of him.

The story of the second race was different. Kay de Wolf (Nestaan Husqvarna) led for much of the 14 laps but couldn’t hold off Geerts in the penultimate lap. The Belgian won by 1.436s ahead of the Dutch rider. Adamo secured third place, trailing by 2.265s. Längenfelder finished fourth, over 20 seconds behind the top three.

In the overall standings for the MXGP of Great Britain, Geerts was the MX2 winner with 45 points, two more than Längenfelder. Adamo concluded his title season with a third-place finish, seven points behind the round winner.

It was a day of decisions in the different MXGP categories, and while in the main category the champion was crowned, the truth is that Andrea Adamo, in MX2, didn’t want to wait either and secured the world title himself despite Jago Geerts got to win the second race. Romain Febvre won the second MXGP race in Italy today.

After seeing the title slip from his grasp in an unusual way, when he crashed out before the end of the first heat, Febvre (Kawasaki) wanted to show that this didn’t affect him and won the second race of the category in Maggiora.

The frenchman, ranked second in the world, beat the Team HRC duo: Tim Gajser was second and finished the race 1.628s behind #3, while Ruben Fernandez was third, 6.011s behind. Jeremy Seewer was fourth and the best Yamaha man on track, with Alberto Forato the best on a KTM.

Jorge Prado (GASGAS), already assured of the title, was sixth.

When it came to MX2, and with the title decisions likely to be finalised in Italy, that scenario was confirmed, with Andrea Adamo (KTM) confirming the world title with one round to go.

Geerts (Yamaha) won the heat and beat the winner of the first, Simon Laengenfelder (GASGAS), with the new world champion taking third place.

Simon Laengenfelder was the big winner of the first MX2 race in Maggiora, in a round in which Andrea Adamo gained more points on his main rivals in the fight for the title.

The german from GASGAS was fastest on italian soil, beating Jago Geerts (Yamaha) by 6.611s, while Adamo (KTM) was third, crossing the line 12.5s after the #516.

Liam Everts (KTM) was the first to miss out on the podium, and he who is still dreaming of the class title saw his teammate get further away in the standings after scoring two more points than him. Lucas Coenen (Husqvarna) was fifth and closed the top five.

Note the fight for third place in the championship, where Laengenfelder, after picking up 25 points in the first race, was just one point behind Geerts. The belgian has 681 points, just one more than the german.

Liam Everts won the MXGP of Turkiye in Afyonkarahisar, for the MX2 Motocross World Championship. Although he didn’t win either of the two races, the Belgian rider displayed the most consistent performance.

In the first race, Simon Längenfelder (Red Bull GasGas) made the holeshot, but by the end of the first lap, Isak Gifting (VHR Racing Team/GasGas) was in the lead. The Swede led for a significant portion of the race until he was overtaken by Längenfelder on lap ten. From that point on, the German rider never lost the lead, finishing 3.146s ahead of Jago Geerts (Monster Energy Yamaha). Everts (Red Bull KTM) took third place, followed by Roan van de Mosdijk (Nestaan Husqvarna) and Gifting, who lost momentum in the final stages.

Van de Moosdijk had a better start in the second race and led in the early laps, but in the lap four he lost positions to Everts and Kevin Horgmo (F&H Kawasaki). Everts then established himself in the lead but couldn’t shake off the pressure from Horgmo. The Norwegian rider managed to overtake in the 13th lap, eventually winning by 2.636s ahead of Everts. Van de Moosdijk finished third, holding off Geerts, while Andrea Adamo (Red Bull KTM) crossed the line in fifth.

In the final standings of the MX2 MXGP of Turkiye, Everts was the winner with 42 points, followed by Horgmo and Geerts with 40 points each. Despite finishing sixth and trailing the winner by 15 points, Adamo keeps his championship lead.

Simon Längenfelder won the qualifying race at the MXGP of Turkey, for the MX2 World Motocross Championship. This Saturday’s race in Afyonkarahisar was marked by rain and wind, especially in the final part.

At the start, Längenfelder (Red Bull GasGas) took the lead and held onto it until the end. Roan van de Moosdijk (Nestaan Husqvarna) was his main opponent until being overtaken by Liam Everts (Red Bull KTM) on the ninth lap.

The rain and wind intensified in the last few laps, making it challenging for the riders. However, this did not discourage Everts from pursuing Längenfelder.

The Belgian put up a strong fight, but the German managed to win by 0.389s. The two were in a league of their own, as van de Moosdijk finished third, a distant 18.587s behind the leaders. Jago Geerts (Monster Energy Yamaha), the championship leader, finished fourth ahead of Lucas Coenen (Neestan Husqvarna).
