It’s an exciting time for motorcycle enthusiasts in India, especially if they’re one of the first to order the new Harley-Davidson X440. That’s because Hero MotoCorp, the company responsible for producing and selling the new model, has started delivering the new model to its discerning owners.
The entry-level model is the only motorcycle in Harley-Davidson’s current line-up that features a single-cylinder engine and, of course, an affordable price that makes it an attractive option for both novice riders and those on a limited budget in India. Hero MotoCorp has started delivering more than 1,000 X440s to 100 dealers in India, including Harley-Davidson and some Hero MotoCorp outlets
As already mentioned, the Harley-Davidson X440 is manufactured at Hero MotoCorp’s Garden Factory, located in Neemrana, in the northern Indian state of Rajasthan. The model marks the first – and presumably not the last – collaboration between Bar and Shield and Hero MotoCorp, which is one of India’s largest motorcycle manufacturers. Impressively, since the Harley X440 made its official debut in July 2023, the bike has obtained more than 25,000 reservations in just one month.
In an article in the Indian automotive publication Auto Car Pro, Niranjan Gupta, CEO of Hero MotoCorp, explained that the company expects to complete all initial deliveries in the next four to five months. “Our supply chain is already building up capacity as we would like to serve all Indian customers who wish to own a Harley Davidson and reduce the waiting period.”
