Aprilia’s growth in the last two MotoGP seasons has been evident, now being a contender for podiums. The Catalan GP was marked by their first 1-2 finish, with Aleix Espargaró and Maverick Viñales, but championship titles may still take longer.
The CEO of Aprilia Racing, Massimo Rivola, reiterated to Marca newspaper that becoming champions is the goal, but the team will still take some time to get there: ‘I came to Aprilia because I wanted to win the World Championship with Aprilia. When will we win? In my opinion, we need two years to grow properly’.
The Italian then spoke about the riders, praising both of their qualities: ‘It will be interesting to see what happens with the rider market by 2025, because I believe a lot in stability. So, I like to see Maverick’s growth, how he gets stronger with every race, and his results are becoming more and more consistent. Aleix is in a spectacular shape. Obviously, he knows the bike like no one else because he has been with us for many years’.
Rivola also mentioned the CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP riders, Miguel Oliveira and Raúl Fernández: ‘It’s also good to see a satellite team that, with Miguel, in particular, but I’m sure also with Raúl, will arrive, grow, and grow well’.
