Rio Ferdinand has expressed his surprise at hearing Tottenham Hotspur fans say they’re “not happy” with Spurs this season.
The Premier League legend spoke about Tottenham on the Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE show on YouTube.
Spurs currently sit third in the Premier League table, with five wins and two draws to their name.
Admittedly, they lost in their second Champions League encounter of the season, Sporting CP winning 2-0 in Lisbon.
However, Tottenham went into the international break on the back of a superb 6-2 win over Leicester.
Of course, Spurs had to come from behind, and were level at the break.
But ultimately, they raced ahead and racked up an impressive scoreline come full time.
Better still, Son Heung-min opened his account for the season in style, with a second-half hat-trick off the bench.
All in all, Spurs have done well so far and have a good springboard after the international break ends.
Ferdinand spoke about how Tottenham have fared so far, and appeared surprised at what he was hearing from Spurs fans.
“It was weird, but it seems like it was a different Spurs,” he said on FIVE.
“I have heard a lot of Spurs fans, ‘Oh, I am not happy with this’.
“But even against Chelsea, they were the better team by a mile and they got a draw out of it.
“This team Leicester, looked like they were going to go on and win the game.
“Yet they still win and score six, in the end. There is the Conte effect in this team where there is that grittiness.”
