Sanyang Motor Company, better known as SYM, is a Taiwanese manufacturer best known for its scooters. Operating in the Asian and European markets, SYM has established itself as a renowned scooter manufacturer, striking a balance between functionality, affordability and performance. Adventure-style scooters are a growing trend these days and SYM doesn’t want to be left behind. As such, it presents its latest model, the ADX 125.
The addition of an “X” to motorcycle and car model names usually means that the model is capable of going everywhere. This is indeed the case with SYM’s new ADX 125. It doesn’t keep its rugged characteristics a secret either, doing everything it can in the styling department to show off its adventurous spirit. According to SYM, it perfectly combines functionality with sophistication. On the one hand, it is equipped with a longer suspension travel than normal, dual-purpose tires and an angular fairing. On the other hand, its LED lights, multiple storage compartments and other practical amenities make it a convenient everyday companion.
On the performance side of the bike, the SYM ADX 125 has a 125 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with fuel injection. Built to Euro 5 standards, this engine puts out a respectable 12 hp of power at 7,500 rpm and 11.5 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheel via a CVT, a feature that is practically ubiquitous in the scooter world. The voluminous 15-liter fuel tank outstrips many of the scooter’s competitors and promises plenty of range between fill-ups.
In terms of technology, the SYM ADX 125 impresses with its five-inch TFT color display, complete with automatic day and night modes. The adventure-style scooter also features a traction control system and ABS for a more confidence-inspiring ride, as well as a keyless ignition system for a smooth entry and exit experience.
