Luca Marini could have change his mind, accepting to move to Repsol Honda in MotoGP for 2024. After denying it during the Malaysian GP, the Mooney VR46 Racing Team rider may have decided to accept a new offer.
According to Sky Sport, the Italian is set to sign a two-year contract instead of the initially proposed one year, which was offered to other potential candidates for Marc Márquez’s seat. The extended duration of the contract appears to have been crucial for Marini, and his representatives reportedly met with Honda last Saturday in Sepang.
Final details are expected to be finished soon, with an announcement anticipated later this week. If confirmed, Marini will leave from the VR46 Racing Team, becoming a factory rider for the first time in his fourth MotoGP season.
