For the first time in 2023, Enea Bastianini will start from the front row of the MotoGP grid, having secured the third position in the qualifying for the Malaysian GP.
It is, so far, the highlight of a very challenging season for the Ducati rider, who, after two serious injuries, now has to deal with rumors about the possibility of losing his spot to Jorge Martín in 2024.
In the interview with the official broadcast, Bastianini admitted that this is a particularly important result for him: ‘It’s incredible, especially after yesterday because we were fast but we were unlucky. But today we have improved, I’ve reset my mind and at the end I’m here on the first row for the first time this year. This is incredible for me, but also for all the guys. It’s nothing because it’s only a qualifying, but for me it’s very much after a season like this, after these two injuries. And now I only have to dream during the race’.
